Print PDF

CSC has commissioned a new disaster recovery data centre (DRDC) in the SIT building on September 13, 2014. The DRDC has been built by IBM and can support a total IT load of 60 KW. It has redundant UPS power supplies and precision airconditioners in N+N and N+1 configurations respectively. The DRDC is 2 hr fire rated has been designed for an annualized average Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.55.

CSC has migrated a redundant set of network stack, storage and blade servers to the DRDC, and an active redundant set of fibres from all academic and hostel distribution switches are terminated at the DRDC. The infrastructure blades and the storage servers in the CSC and DRDC have Layer 2 connectivity and all CSC virtual machines can run from either site. CSC can now offer its infrastructure services from either or both the locations.

From now on all CSC infrastructure and ERP data (except Baadal and ACSS data) will be available live in two different locations - CSC and DRDC. Every bit of CSC infrastructure data from now on will be synchronously written in both locations and can be served from either.

The following categories are created by default: CSCHowTos, CSCAdminHowtos, FacultyAffairs, IITDAcademics, IITDCampus, IITDStudentLife. Users can add more categories. Please refer to Help on IITDWiki for a basic Howto.

Users are encouraged to use the Wiki facility for sharing community knowledge and  knowledge specific to research and other interest groups.
